Chess Lab BJJ Membership Terms and Conditions

1. Membership Options

Chess Lab BJJ offers three types of memberships to accommodate the needs of our members:

- Commitment Membership: This option provides a discounted monthly rate in exchange for a commitment to remain a member for a minimum period of time. This membership is billed on a recurring monthly basis.

- Month-to-Month Membership: This flexible option allows members to cancel at any time with a 10-day notice prior to the next billing date. This membership is billed on a recurring monthly basis at the standard rate.

- Founders Membership: This exclusive yearly membership is billed annually at a discounted rate. Members receive full access to all facilities and classes for the duration of the year.

2. Membership Billing

- All memberships are billed on a recurring basis using the payment method provided at the time of registration.

- Members are responsible for ensuring their payment information is up-to-date to avoid interruptions in service.

- Chess Lab BJJ reserves the right to update billing dates, providing notice to members of any changes in advance.

- The Founders Membership is billed annually, and renewal will occur automatically unless canceled prior to the renewal date.

3. Cancellation Policy

Commitment Membership:

- Members who choose the discounted Commitment Membership are required to fulfill the agreed-upon commitment period.

- Early termination of the Commitment Membership will result in a cancellation fee equivalent to one month’s standard membership rate.

- Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing at least 10 days prior to the next billing cycle to take effect after the commitment period ends.

Month-to-Month Membership:

- Members may cancel at any time by providing written notice at least 10 days prior to the next billing date.

- Cancellations submitted less than 10 days before the next billing cycle will result in one final charge, and the membership will remain active until the end of the billing period.

Founders Membership:

- The Founders Membership is a 12-month agreement billed annually.

- Members must submit a written cancellation notice at least 10 days prior to the renewal date to avoid automatic renewal.

- No refunds will be provided for early termination or unused months.

4. Refunds and Credits

- Membership fees are non-refundable.

- Prorated refunds are not offered for partial months.

- In the case of a billing error, Chess Lab BJJ will review and resolve the issue promptly.

5. Membership Freezes

- Commitment Membership holders may request a freeze of their membership due to medical reasons or other significant circumstances, subject to approval. The freeze duration will extend the commitment period by the equivalent time.

- Month-to-Month Membership holders are not eligible for membership freezes.

- Founders Membership holders may request a freeze due to medical reasons or other significant circumstances, subject to approval. The freeze duration will extend the membership by the equivalent time.

6. Code of Conduct

- Members are expected to follow all gym rules and respect staff, coaches, and fellow members.

- Chess Lab BJJ reserves the right to terminate a membership at any time if a member’s behavior is deemed inappropriate or harmful to the community.

- No refunds will be issued in the event of membership termination due to a breach of the Code of Conduct.

7. Liability Waiver

- By signing up for a membership, members agree to Chess Lab BJJ’s liability waiver, acknowledging the risks associated with martial arts training.

- Chess Lab BJJ is not responsible for injuries, accidents, or lost/stolen personal items on the premises.

8. Modifications to Membership Terms

- Chess Lab BJJ reserves the right to modify membership rates, terms, and conditions with a 30-day notice provided to all members.

- Members will have the opportunity to cancel their membership without penalty if they do not agree to the updated terms.
